Charminar is no doubt the first thing that comes to mind when we hear about Hyderabad. It is located amidst a crowded market in the old city. The charminar of hyderabad is composed of two words char and minar meaning four and pillars respectively, hence the name symbolizes four pillars. The charminar was built by Muhammad Auli Qutb Shah in 1591 at the center of the newly built city of Hyderabad to celebrate the eradication of cholera. The place holds both historical and religious significance. The 48.7m high tower has a mosque at the top. The clumsy stairs lead you to the top which gives a panoramic view of the magnificent city stretching in all four directions. The beautiful lighting in the evening draws the tourists toward itself. The place is always buzzing with tourists and is very close to Laad Bazaar-the famous shopping point.
